AKC Rottweilers Standard

The AKC rottweilers standard for its general appearance is medium large, robust, and powerful dog. The rottweilers head is broad between the ears. Some wrinkling may occur when the dog is alert. Expression is noble, alert and self-assured.

The outer coat of a rottweiler is straight, coarse, dense, of medium length and lying flat. The color of a rottweiler is always black with rust to mahagony marking.

Rottweilers breed

Rottweilers breed possess great intelligence, unmatched loyalty and a strong guardian instinct. Rottweilers are devoted to their family and often will bond very closely to one member.

Rottweilers thrive on companionship and they are prone to follow their owner where the owner goes. Some owners cherish this devotion but some do not. Rottweilers breed must be obedience trained. This breed require exercise daily, and the access in a fenced yard is just not enough.

Rottweilers temperament

 The rottweilers basically is a calm, confident, courageous dog with a self-assured aloofness that does not lend itself to immediate and indiscriminate friendship. A rottweiler responds quietly with a wait and see attitude to influence in his environment.

A rottweiler has a desire to protect home and family, and is an intelligent dog of extreme hardness and adaptibility with a strong willingness to work. This make a rottweiler suited as a companion, guardian and general all purpose dog.

Pug AKC Breed Standard

A pug breed standard describe how a dog in each breed should look like and the standard gives pug breeders something to strive for. AKC pug breed standard also ensure that a pug looks like a pug and not bulldog or chihuahua.

The breed standard calls for pug to be “a lot of dog in a small body”. The pug’s head is large, massive and round but a pug breed shouldn’t be apple-headed. Pug breed has a square body and the tail curled as tightly as possible over the hip.

A tail with double curl is perfection. Pug breed comes in three colours : silver, apricot-fawn and black.

Anyone can breed two pugs and sell the pug puppies and call themself pug breeders. Reputable pug breeders are knowledgeable about the breed’s history and health, genetics and breed type.

A reputable pug breeder’s priority is that pug puppies go to a good home where they will be loved all their lives. Be wary of pug breeders who seem anxious to get rid of pug puppies.

Pug Personality

Pug breed are comical, mischievous, sweet and loving. They retain their toddler like enjoyment of life long into maturity. Even old pugs still get a thrill out of playing with a stuffed animal or acting goofy.

Pugs love kids too but that doesn’t mean pugs will tolerate children who pull his ears and tail. When it comes to pugs and other pet, other pug breed are best (at least in the mind of pug). If there aren’t any available, pug are just as happy with other dogs or cats.

Pug breed potential medical problems

Pug breed are prone to eye disease and the best pug breeders have their breeding stock annually certified clear of eye problems by the Canine Eye Registry Foundation.

Other than eye problem, they are prone to orthopedic problem, dislocated kneecap, hip dysplasia and respiratory disease. Pugs can suffer from overheating too, so keeping them cool is a must.
